Gray Walls? 🎨 Carpet Colors Revealed! 👣

I’m so excited to share this post with you today! If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve been busy at work on a home renovation project to update my husband’s office.

One of the main reasons we wanted to update this space is because it is the first room you see when you walk in the front door. We wanted it to be warm and inviting, but also professional.

The office was previously painted the same color as the rest of our house – a light gray. While I love the color, we’ve been in our house for 8 years and I’ve been itching to do something different.

The office also has a large built-in bookshelf and cabinetry that is painted a dark gray. I felt like the light gray walls were competing with dark gray built-ins.

1. Brown Carpet

Brown and gray are both neutral colors, so they go together perfectly! A brown carpet will add some warmth to your gray walls and make your space feel cozy.

Brown and gray are a classic combo in interior design, and we love how it looks in this bedroom! The white baseboards and crown molding create a clean break between the gray walls and brown carpet, and the white bedding ties everything together.

Plus, the brown carpet adds a pop of color to the room and makes the space feel more inviting. You can use this same trick in your home by adding a brown carpet to your gray-walled room!

2. Gray Carpet

Gray walls and gray carpet go together like peanut butter and jelly! This monochromatic look is perfect for a modern, minimalist style.

Gray carpet also comes in a variety of shades, so you can choose a lighter or darker gray to add more variety to your space. We recommend choosing a gray that’s a few shades lighter or darker than your wall color to create contrast.

3. Beige Carpet

Beige and gray are two colors that are often used together in home decor. Beige carpets are a classic choice for a reason. They are versatile and can be used in any room.

Beige carpets are a great choice for living rooms, bedrooms, and dining rooms. They add warmth to the space and compliment the gray walls.

Beige carpets can be paired with a variety of different area rugs. Try adding a pop of color to the room with a bright rug.

4. White Carpet

White carpet is not the most popular choice. White can make a room feel larger, and it’s a great color to use if you want to accentuate the size of a room.

White carpet can also make a room feel brighter and more open, but it’s not the best color to use if you’re looking for a low-maintenance option.

White carpet can show stains and dirt more easily than other colors, so it may require more frequent cleanings.

5. Blue Carpet

A blue carpet can be a unique, stylish choice for a gray room. Blue and gray are two cool tones that pair well together, making a blue carpet a great way to add a pop of color to your gray room.

Pro Tip: When you use a bold color like blue, it’s best to keep the rest of the room’s décor simple. This will help the blue carpet be the star of the show!

6. Green Carpet

The green and gray combo is a classic pair of colors that can be found in many homes today. Green carpeting can be a great way to add a pop of color to the room, especially in a lighter, softer shade.

When pairing green carpet with gray walls, you can’t go wrong with a neutral rug. A beige or cream-colored rug will give the room a clean, airy look.

7. Multi-Colored Carpet

While it may be a bit more challenging to find the perfect color, patterned carpet can be a great choice with light gray walls!

You can find a multi-colored carpet with a variety of shades to bring more depth and dimension to your space. This can be a great way to incorporate your favorite colors or to pull in accent colors from other rooms in your home.

8. Patterned Carpet

If you love the look of gray walls and want to keep the color palette neutral, consider a patterned carpet. This will add visual interest to the room without introducing any new colors.

Pro Tip: A patterned carpet is a great option for a busy space like a family room or playroom because it helps to hide dirt and stains.

9. Dark Carpet

If you’ve been looking for a way to bring a little drama into your space, dark carpet may be the perfect way to do it! Dark carpet is a great way to make a bold statement and add a little edge to any room.

If you’re worried about dark carpet making your room feel too small, try adding a large, light rug on top of the carpet to break up the space and add some contrast!

10. Black Carpet

Black carpet is the most dramatic of all the colors. It’s a great choice for a library, den, or home office. It’s also a great choice for a luxury bedroom.

Black carpet is a good choice when you want to add a lot of contrast to a room with light gray walls. It’s also a good choice when you want to make a room with dark gray walls feel more grounded.
